Vision Inspection of Automobile Sealing Strip Coating

With the increasing complexity of automobile manufacturing technology and parts structure, it also brings some difficulties to the detection of automobile parts.  Before the traditional automobile parts detection method is manually by hand to detect.  But now the structure of automotive parts is complex, manual detection will have many problems, such as the cost of time, low efficiency, low accuracy, data missing, and not easy to monitor the real-time data, so we must use the efficient and reliable detection means to avoid the production of unqualified parts.  One of the most noteworthy is the rapid development of the POMEAS machine vision system in recent years.

（1）Project Brief:
In order to improve the service life of automobile sealing strips, transparent coating is needed on its surface. in order to avoid coating leakage due to the fault of spraying equipment, it is necessary to increase the detection equipment to detect the coating. the current mature scheme is to add fluorescent agent in the transparent coating. the machine vision can be detected reliably. the machine vision detection can detect the reflection on the surface of the sealing strip at any time. when the surface of the seal is lack of coating, the industrial camera will give the alarm signal for post - processing.

（2）Purpose
Through POMEAS machine vision system detects the coating and single layer of the automobile seal.

The color mean value of the three regions is measured

Acceptable picture ( surface coated )

Unqualified picture ( no coating on a certain area of the surface )

（4）Application

A fluorescent agent is added to the coating of the automobile seal, which can be detected by the POMEAS machine vision system under the irradiation of ultraviolet light. the color second tool of the gigabit industry camera can distinguish whether the coating is coated according to the reflective intensity of the surface.
